Lake St. Clair stretches over 17 Kilometres into the heart of Tasmania's World Heritage Area. The lake is ringed by mountain ranges, dominated by Mt Olympus - at 1447 metres - and forested to the shoreline with sassafras, myrtle, native pines and beeches and a whole range of endemic alpine flora. A new Visitor Centre, apart from being a state of the art Interpretation area, houses an excellent brassiere/ restaurant, shop, fishing and Visitor Information Centre. The restaurant looks over the lake - dining with a world heritage view. There are alpine lodges, a backpacker lodge, camping facilities and powered sites - the full range of accommodation options. Whatever your length of stay at Lake St. Clair our staff can expertly advise how best to spend your time. Accommodation
