The number of homes scheduled to go under the hammer has risen for the fifth week in a row, but the figure is still well down on last year's record-breaking auction action.
There are 2,719 homes currently scheduled for auction across the combined capital cities this week - up from 2537 the week prior and the busiest week since late May, according to CoreLogic.
The same week last year saw a record number of homes going under the hammer, with 4981 auctions scheduled as vendors sought to get in on the action after months of lockdowns and restrictions in major markets.
In Melbourne there are 1,207 homes currently scheduled for auction, up from 1158 last week.
Sydney has 988 homes scheduled to go under the hammer, up from 891 last week.
Melbourne's final clearance rate improved last week, rising from 56.1 per cent to 58.6 per cent.
Sydney's clearance rate rose to 59 per cent, up from 58.6 per cent the week prior.
