Brisbane and Canberra follow in the number of homes going to auction, with Brisbane having 155 and Canberra 101 properties.
The rise in auctions comes at what is traditionally considered the start of the spring selling season, however numbers of both auctions for the first weekend in spring and the number of houses up for sale is more subdued this year.
