Blacktown
Multicultural melting pot and a hub for shopping, leisure, culture in Western Sydney
The towers rising in Blacktown’s city centre are reshaping the image of this Western Sydney city centre.
Since the approval of a massive transformation of the Blacktown CBD in 2020, investors and major institutions are turning to the area as one of the future hubs in Greater Western Sydney. Plans are under way for a university campus in the CBD and developers are expected to spend billions on new office space.
These plans will add to a suburb that already boasts attractions that draw people from all over Sydney to the area. The Raging Waters Water Park and Sydney’s only drive-in cinema are favourites of locals and visitors alike, while shopping options in Westpoint abound.
Well served by motorways, it’s only a 35 minute drive to the Sydney CBD and about the same to escape to the Blue Mountains.
The town centre is a transport hub with multiple bus lines and train services on the Western and Cumberland Line from Richmond to Leppington.
The combination of services and accessibility have drawn the wide diversity of people to Blacktown who make the suburb the vibrant community that it is today.
