Hurstville

Hurstville is a suburb with a mix of modern high-rise apartments, character Federation homes and a lively dining scene. Situated just 17 kilometres to the Sydney CBD by road, there are also express train services which deliver you to the city in just over 20 minutes. The suburb's main thoroughfare, Forest Road, is home to numerous Asian restaurants and today Hurstville has a large and proud Chinese-Australian community. Shoppers are also catered for with a large Westfield shopping centre, which also houses a multiplex cinema. In recent years numerous high-rise apartment buildings have been constructed, particularly around the main transport hub of Hurstville train station. There are also older freestanding homes, some dating back to Federation style single-storey properties, while larger double-storey modern homes have been constructed in more recent years. Families are attracted to the wide variety of schools, which include public selective schools and well-regarded private schools.
