Thurgoona offers plenty of opportunities close to Albury but with a community feel

Thurgoona is located on the outskirts of Albury. It’s a popular suburb for many different demographics including families, retirees, couples, students and families. This is due to the range of facilities in the area and close proximity to Albury while having a “small town” feel. There are plenty of educational organisations including Trinity Anglican College, TAFE NSW National Environment Centre, Charles Sturt University and Border Christian College. Thurgoona is also home to the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre. The centre plays hosts to several equestrian events each year including the olympic disciplines of eventing, dressage and showjumping plus polocrosse, adult riding club and pony club. There are many parks in the area and other sporting facilities making it a great place for families and outdoor lovers. Shopping is close by at the Thurgoona Plaza which has cafes, a supermarket, pharmacy and gym. The Kinross Woolshed is the pub in the area which was established in the 1980s. The Thurgoona Country Club resort has an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and restaurant facilities.
