Southern Mallee Council

The Southern Mallee District Council is a local government area in the Murray and Mallee region of South Australia. It was established on 23 January 1997 through the merger of the District Council of Lameroo and District Council of Pinnaroo. The council offices are located in Pinnaroo and Lameroo. The largest towns within the council area are Lameroo and Pinnaroo. In addition to these towns, the council also includes several other localities such as Geranium, Karte, Parilla, and Parrakie, as well as parts of Jabuk and Ngarkat. In Southern Mallee, a considerable percentage of residents own their homes outright, while others are purchasers or renters. The workforce is characterized by a mix of managerial, labour, and technical occupations. The area's economy is driven by industries such as agriculture, real estate services, and construction.
