Boddington is a town and shire located in the Peel region of Western Australia, approximately 120 kilometres south-east of Perth. Situated on the road from Pinjarra to Williams, the town is positioned along the Hotham River. As of the 2016 Census, the population of Boddington was recorded at 1,844 residents. The town's name is derived from an early settler named Henry Boddington, who was a farmer and shepherd in the 1860s and 1870s. Henry Boddington leased land in the area in 1875 before eventually relocating to Wagin, with his name becoming associated with a pool in the Hotham River where he frequently camped. Boddington's workforce is comprised of machinery operators, technicians, and managers. Family households mainly consist of childless couples and couples with children.
