The Shire of Corrigin is located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 230 kilometres east of Perth. The town of Corrigin serves as the seat of government for the shire. Covering an area of 3,095 square kilometres, the economy of the region is primarily based on agriculture, particularly cereal grains and sheep, with additional industries such as a flour mill supporting the economy. Prior to becoming the Shire of Corrigin, different parts of the area were managed by various road boards until the establishment of the Kunjinn Road District in 1913.
