Goomalling Council

The Shire of Goomalling is located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 132 kilometres northeast of Perth. It covers an area of 2,836 square kilometres and its seat of government is the town of Goomalling. The Shire was originally established as the Goomalling Road District on 18 January 1895, and later became a Shire on 1 July 1961. The Shire is divided into 4 wards: Town Ward, North Ward, South Ward, and Central Ward. As of 2023, there are 38 heritage-listed places in the Shire of Goomalling, with two on the State Register of Heritage Places. Goomalling council area exhibits a workforce dominated by managers, technicians, and trades workers. The primary industries are agriculture, forestry, and fishing, followed by transport and warehousing. The majority of households own their homes outright or are purchasers, with a notable proportion having affordable mortgage repayments.
