The Shire of Kellerberrin is located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 60 kilometres west of Merredin and 200 kilometres east of Perth. Covering an area of 1,917 square kilometres, the Shire's seat of government is in the town of Kellerberrin. The area was originally established as the Kellerberrin Road District on 24 July 1908, which later became the Shire of Kellerberrin on 1 July 1961 under the Local Government Act 1960.
