Mukinbudin Council

The Shire of Mukinbudin is located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 80 kilometres north of Merredin and 300 kilometres east of Perth. Covering an area of 3,437 square kilometres, the town of Mukinbudin serves as the seat of government for the Shire. Initially part of the Merredin Road District, the Shire of Mukinbudin was established as a separate entity, known as the Mukinbudin Road District, in 1933 due to a growing population. Thomas Basil Conway was elected as the inaugural chairman of the Shire during its first election in November 1933. The council area of Mukinbudin has a diverse age distribution, with a notable percentage of residents aged above 50. The majority of households have mortgage repayments or rent payments that are less than 30% of their income. The predominant occupations in the area are managers, technicians, and professionals.
