Nungarin Council

Nungarin is a town located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 278 kilometres east of Perth. It is the main town in the Shire of Nungarin, with a population of 142 as of the 2006 census. The surrounding areas are known for producing wheat and other cereal crops. Nungarin serves as a receival site for Cooperative Bulk Handling. In October 1910, land was set aside for the townsite reserve along the Dowerin to Merredin railway. In Nungarin, a notable proportion of households have mortgage repayments within the recommended limit, contrasting with high rent payments.
