The Shire of Peppermint Grove is located in Perth, Western Australia, approximately 12 kilometres southwest of the central business district. It is the smallest local government area in Australia, covering only 1.1 km2 and consisting of the suburb of Peppermint Grove. The area was originally established as the Peppermint Grove Road District in 1895 and became a shire in 1961 under the Local Government Act 1960.
