Trayning Council

The Shire of Trayning is located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Merredin and 240 kilometres east of Perth. Covering an area of 1,651 square kilometres, the town of Trayning serves as the seat of government for the Shire. Historically, the area was divided between the Meckering Road District and Kellerberrin Road District before becoming the Korrelocking Road District in 1911. Parts of Mount Marshall and Dowerin were also included in the original district. Trayning council area has a majority of households with affordable mortgage repayments and moderate rent payments. The population is skewed towards older age groups, with varied income levels and family compositions.
