The Shire of Waroona is located in the Peel region of Western Australia, situated between Mandurah and Harvey, approximately 110 kilometres south of Perth. Covering an area of about 835 km², the Shire's seat of government is in the town of Waroona. Established on 29 April 1898 as the Drakesbrook Road District, it became the Shire of Waroona on 1 July 1961 following the passage of the Local Government Act 1960.
