Yalgoo is a town located in the Mid-west region of Western Australia, approximately 499 kilometres north-north-east of Perth. It is also situated 118 kilometres east-north-east of Mullewa. The area was originally used as grazing land for European settlers, with families utilizing the rich pastures for sheep herding. As the value of the land became apparent, the first sheep stations were established in Yalgoo. Today, Yalgoo falls under the local government area of the Shire of Yalgoo.
