The Shire of Etheridge is a local government area in Far North Queensland, Australia, located in the Savannah Gulf region. Its economy is primarily based on cattle grazing and mining. Covering an area of 39,199 square kilometres (15,134.8 sq mi), it has been in existence as a local government entity since 1882. The region was originally established as the Einasleigh Division in 1879, with a population of 720, before being renamed to the Shire of Etheridge in 1919.
