Post the COVID-19 pandemic, Queensland received a high proportion of domestic migration. The most populated area within the state is the Greater Brisbane area, which is situated on the Brisbane River whilst the Gold Coast is another key economic and housing hub, situated on the Pacific Ocean The state borders NSW, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Queensland was named in honour of Queen Victoria.
