Redcliffe
The beautiful coastal suburb of Redcliffe is known for it’s rich and illustrious history.
The Redcliffe Peninsula as a whole was the very first settlement city of Queensland in 1824. The peninsula juts into Moreton Bay and contains several other surrounding suburbs. Over the years, this bayside community has been home to a string of iconic people and events throughout history.
In more recent times, Redcliffe had ties to a pop group of brothers called The Bee Gees. Celebrating the Gibb brothers’ phenomenal musical career and their links to Redcliffe is Bee Gees Way, a free outdoor multi-media exhibition developed in conjunction with Barry Gibb. It features life-sized statues of the brothers, photographs, personal stories and reflections, and never-before-seen home movie footage.
Redcliffe has become a vibrant beach holiday destination while still maintaining a local residential identity. Stroll along the beachfront esplanades where you’ll find trendy sidewalk cafes and restaurants, indulge in some retail therapy in the eclectic mix of unique and locally operated stores or check out the popular bayside tourist attractions.
If you are looking for entertainment, there’s no shortage in Redcliffe with a bustling events calendar, thriving nightlife and popular Sunday markets.
