Traralgon
A regional city that offers job opportunities, garden views and a laid-back lifestyle
Traralgon
The largest city in the Latrobe Valley, Traralgon is defined by its tree-lined streets, thriving commercial district and beautiful gardens.
With a population over 25,000, it is located 161-kilometres from Melbourne and is home to most of Victoria’s power generation facilities. Its economy is primarily driven by natural resources followed closely by coal mining, power generation, a significant forestry industry and agriculture.
The major government administration offices for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning (DELWP), and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) are also located in the town, allowing for plenty of job opportunities.
Aside from industry, Traralgon is home to a bustling entertainment scene, a plethora of dining options and many retail hubs which provide everything required for business, leisure and daily errands.
Further south of Traralgon the Strzelecki Ranges offer a number of scenic tourist drive routes, including the Grand Ridge Road and the route to the Tarra Bulga National Park - meaning residents can occupy visiting family and friends with much ease.
At a median property price at about $329,000, Traralgon is an affordable and plentiful place for those seeking a more laid-back and community-oriented home.
