A home in Wollongong's northern suburbs which had been in the same family's ownership for seven decades has changed hands.
The home, located at 20 Cochrane Road, Thirroul was sold for $3.4 million.
Selling agent, Kane Downie from One Agency said the property was sold to a buyer from the Illawarra, who had been looking for a home for their family.

"They're going to give the house some love, and enjoy the space," he said.
Mr Downie said the property been in the family for about 70 years, and was being sold as a deceased estate.
"It was an emotional situation for them to sell it," he said.
The four-bedroom home sits on two separate titles spanning 1298 square metres, and is located in a no through road while enjoying a northeasterly aspect with escarpment views.
The updated 1940's cottage also features high ceilings and refinished Kauri flooring, and is located about 450 metres from Thirroul Beach.
Cotality records indicate the home was sold after 219 days on the market.
"It's on two blocks... To find two blocks of land like that is very rare in Thirroul," Mr Downie said.
According to Cotality, the current median house value in Thirroul is $1,858,891.
The suburb recently made headlines when a home which had been maintained by the same owners since its construction in 1970 quickly found a buyer.
Retro features proved popular as the four-bedroom home, located at 6 Palm Grove, Thirroul was sold for $1.9 million.
Cotality records show the home was sold after 38 days on the market.
Selling agent, Mr Downie said the buyer loved the home's period features, as well as the solidness and size of the home.
Also, a new home with a quality of the build that's "off the charts" is on the market.
The non-waterfront property, located at 1 Harbord Street, Thirroul has a price guide of $4.5 million.
The four-bedroom, off-form concrete constructed home home boasts a 22-metre frontage.
Selling agent, Troy Johnson from Ray White Woonona said there had been interest so far from Sydney, Tasmania and Illawarra buyers.
